Callan McAuliffe gives a thumbs up at the premiere of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never held at Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening (February 8).

After seeing the movie, the 16-year-old actor tweeted, “Never say never was @#$%! phenomenal. It really explains the hard work and effort the guy has put into his career. Haters should watch it. New respect for @justinbieber Congrats on the film mate.”

Callan added about the carpet, “SO MUCH SCREAMING.”

Bieber Talks to ‘Extra’ about His New Movie and other stuff!!

Everyone is going to see Never Say Never

Selena & Justin ‘Seem Like Really Good Friends,’ Co-Star Says

Despite the fact that neither Justin Bieber nor Selena Gomez will publicly admit to a budding romance, the amount of evidence supporting the rumor is starting to stack up. Especially the photo that surfaced over the weekend that showed Bieber and Gomez walking together holding hands, a month after photos surfaced of them canoodling in St. Lucia.

Still, all we’ve heard from the stars themselves is that Bieber thinks Gomez is “amazing,” and that “anyone would be lucky to date her.”

With Bieber and Gomez remaining mum, MTV News had no choice but to turn to their friends and co-stars for the inside scoop on their possible young love. When we caught up with Gomez’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” co-star Jake T. Austin on Wednesday at the premiere of “I Am Number Four,” we asked for his thoughts on the pair.

“[Justin has] been on set a few times,” said Austin, who plays Gomez’s younger brother Max on the popular Disney Channel show. “They just seem like really good friends,” he added, carefully avoiding any mention of the terms “romance” or “dating” or “boyfriend and girlfriend.” “They both live really similar lifestyles, so I can see why it’s easy for them to get along.”

The pair (if they are a pair) must be growing weary of the constant scrutiny, and Austin agreed that being relentlessly followed by fans, paparazzi and the media at large wouldn’t be much fun.

“Yeah. It sucks not being able to go to Ralphs [supermarket],” Austin said. -MTV

The-Dream Talks JB Collaboration

If anybody knows that the world isn’t perfect, it’s singer/songwriter The-Dream. Last year, the man behind hit songs by everyone from Mariah Carey (“Touch My Body”) to Rihanna (“Umbrella”) said he was retiring as an artist, vowing to abide by a threat he’d been teasing about for some time.

“It’s the last album, period,” The-Dream told MTV News with regard to his Love King project. “I really would like it to be the last one if I could — in a perfect world.”

Things haven’t exactly gone smooth for The-Dream since that time. He divorced singer/actress Christina Milian amid allegations of adultery and revealed that he thought about suicide during the aftermath of the breakup.

But now, the Grammy-winning producer has revealed that he is hard at work on a new solo effort.

“Everybody’s calling for an album now, so I should have one out by August,” The-Dream told former MTV host Quddus on Wednesday before the Los Angeles premiere of Justin Bieber’s new movie, “Never Say Never.”

As of press time, no album title or release date had been confirmed by The-Dream’s label, Def Jam Records. The singer, whose own credits include “Nikki,” “Rockin’ That Thang” and “Make Up Bag,” also was hush regarding details.

The-Dream did reveal to Quddus that he’s working on Bieber’s next record, along with Danja, Kevin Cossom and Kanye West.

“I’ve been writing, just to get ready,” he said about the teen sensation’s upcoming effort. He teased that the sound of the new material was “somewhere between Fergie and Jesus, somewhere in between there. If I can get away with edgy, I would love it.”

The-Dream also recently hit the studio with reality star Kim Kardashian, with whom he recorded the catchy single “Turn It Up.” -MTV

Justin Says He’s Not Just Some Industry ‘Packaged Thing’

Justin Bieber will have his loyal fans and even his harshest critics saying “Never Say Never” when his 3-D flick opens on Friday. The movie offers an inside look at Bieber’s rise to stardom and the hard work and determination the teen star put in before hitting it big.

For those who may not realize that Bieber is more than just a record label puppet created to pander to throngs of teenage girls, the film also shows that the 16-year-old is a skilled musician.

“People didn’t really know,” he explained to MTV News. “They didn’t understand that I’ve been playing music ever since I was born and it’s always been in me. And this movie is really going to show that I’m not just some packaged thing that some A&R put together. It was actually just me living my dream and just making music.”

He later joked that he also wasn’t molded in manager Scooter Braun’s basement. “Yeah, [he] just cut my hair like this [and made me what I am]!”

At the New York screening for the film last week, Bieber spoke to us about what he hopes his fans will take away from the film. It is part concert film, part documentary, complete with interviews from some of the people closest to the teen phenom. It also features cameos by Miley Cyrus, Usher and Ludacris, to name a few, during concert performances filmed at Madison Square Garden last September, and interviews. In the film, Bieber is seen skillfully playing piano, drums and guitar.

“Fans will be really excited to see that I’m just a regular 16-year-old having fun, just living my dream,” he said. “And it’s possible for anyone to live theirs.”

Hot on the heels of his movie’s premiere, Bieber will be performing at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where he promises “some surprises.” He’s been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album. -MTV

Ask Bieber

A while back, we asked you to tell us what questions you’d ask Justin Bieber if you had a chance. At the recent press day for the brand-new film ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D,’ he did just that. “Professor Bieber” and director Jon Chu imparted wisdom on everything from romance (even though, as he says, “I’m a singer, not a love therapist”) to how to get noticed at one of his concerts (apparently, it can happen!).

Teen Idol Bieber: ‘I’m Just A Regular Person’

LOS ANGELES — Every generation has had its own teen idol whose dreamy pictures cover loyal fans’ bedroom walls. In the past, it was Elvis Presley, Davy Jones, Donny Osmond or any of the Brat Pack members. Today, it’s YouTube sensation turned mega-pop star Justin Bieber.

His movie debut is the documentary “Never Say Never” that follows the now-16-year-old Canadian from his days as a little boy with a winning smile and love for music to selling out Madison Square Garden in New York. Don’t mistake his young age for inexperience, though. In Los Angeles last weekend, I sat down with him and asked about his whirlwind tour.

Q

How has life on the road been?

A

It’s been great. I got to be on (Jay) Leno and (David) Letterman. I was on the “Today” show, “Saturday Night Live” and “The Daily Show (with Jon Stewart).”

Q

You seem to be a nonstop performing and promotion machine. Is that natural, or do you have someone telling you where to be, what to do and what to say?

A

I am not a machine. I’m just a regular person. I just have a love for what I do. I love to travel. I love to be with my fans. I love to perform. I love to sing. I just really love what I do, and I think that’s important.

You become a machine when you start to not like having fun with what you’re doing. When that happens, that’s when I’m going to stop. It’s such hard work — why would you want to do this if that wasn’t fun for you? It is pretty crazy, but I get to hang out with my friends and travel. It’s just such an amazing experience.

Q

Do you get any time to just do normal teenage stuff?

A

I get one day off a week, so I just do whatever. I either sleep or go hang out with my friends. I like to go to the beach. I like to go to the movies. I like going bowling. I go to the mall and just hang out.

Q

Is it possible for your mom to be normal with you? Do you have a curfew? Do you get punished?

A

What do you mean? It’s not like, as soon as you get to be a pop star, you’re immediately not treated … regular anymore. My mom is still my mom no matter where I am or what I do. She’s still going to be, like, my mom.

I definitely have a curfew. This morning, I had to get up early, so I had to be home by 10:30 last night. Like, if I was home late, she’d take away my phone or something. She yelled at (me) a couple of times when we were doing interviews on the bus at, like, 2 in the morning. She was like, “(You’ve) got to go to bed!” It was really funny.

Justin Surprises His Fans During Never Say Never

The 21 Most-Asked Questions About Justin Bieber!

Never Say Never, Justin Bieber

Happy Justin Bieber movie debut week! With Never Say Never, his just amazingly awesome 3-D documentary coming to theaters way too near you, questions about the Beeb are all the rage.

In celebration of this outstanding feat in entertainment, I have assembled the definitive Justin Bieber FAQ, based on the questions you keep asking me—and Yahoo! and Google.

With any luck, you will never, ever have another question about Justin Bieber again. Here goes:

1. Did Justin Bieber crop his hair?

It did appear gently trimmed during this week’s premiere of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. But he may be getting even zanier with the scissors; he hinted to Barbara Walters in December that he plans to “cut it probably soon.”

2. Did Justin Bieber admit he’s dating Selena Gomez?

No. But he didn’t not admit it either. Check out his bobbing and weaving on this issue in our exclusive red carpet interview.

3. Did Justin Bieber punch a 12-year-old?

A kid did claim that Bieber roughed him up last October during a rousing game of laser tag, but no charges were ever filed, and the matter was dropped.

4. Did Justin Bieber almost live his life in obscurity?

Every star almost lives his life in obscurity. Until they audition for something, or get born to Kris Jenner. Still, Bieber did have a hard time finding a label. “Everyone passed on Justin,” his manager, Scooter Braun, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “They all said the same thing: ‘He’s too young.’ ‘No one’s broken from YouTube.’” Eventually, of course, Bieber did get signed, and the rest is history.

5. Did Justin Bieber die?

No. But I can tell you this exclusively: One day he is going to die.

6. Did Justin Bieber’s voice change?

It is in the process of dipping toward the basso profundo, yes. But as Bieber recently told Matt Lauer, the singer has a voice coach helping him through the inevitable change.

7. Did Justin Bieber once ask out Rihanna?

Yes. And they went to dinner in New York City in November, though it wasn’t exactly romantic.

8. Did Justin Bieber ever diss Mariah Carey?

Probably.

9. Did Justin Bieber really diss a reporter?

He does not have a good track record with the media. Producers of an Australian TV show have accused him of rudeness and cussing—which he has denied. But there is video of Bieber being cranky to a crew closer to home as well.

10. Did Justin Bieber ever get any taller?

Apparently, though exactly how much taller he has gotten, or is going to get, is unclear. Apparently he did grow during the 2009-2010 period, if this report is any indication.

Turns out, the Biebster isn’t only thinking of himself when it comes to romance. Just ask Jon M. Chu, the director of Never Say Never.

“The other day, he was like, ‘Dude, you need a girlfriend,’” Chu tells me. “I was like, ‘Yeah, tell me about it, but your fans are too young!” But then Justin said, ‘You know, they have older sisters.’”

Bieber’s already hooked Chu up…sorta. “It’s amazing how many Facebook friends I’ve gotten,” Chu laughs.

As for Twitter, Chu had about 12,000 followers when he directed Step Up 3-D. As of today, he has 168,439. He laughs again, “It went up 100,000 in the first few days of [Never Say Never] being announced.”

So, who’s excited to see Never Say Never? Sound off below.

Justin Bieber T-Shirts — Too Gangsta For School!!

Move over Crips and Bloods — Justin Bieber is so bad-ass, he can get Yonkers high school girls suspended for wearing a J.B. t-shirt, because school officials say it has “gang” written all over it.

0211_Just_bieber_Shirt_TMZ_EX

Four teenage girls at Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, NY tell TMZ they attended a premiere for Justin Bieber’s movie on Tuesday … then wore their homemade t-shirts, emblazoned with “Bieber Krew,” to school the next day (see above).

The girls say school security ordered them to remove the shirts or cover them up because they were “gang-related.” The students say they were also threatened with suspension.

The principal then called a meeting with the girls, their parents and the security guards. One of the parents tells TMZ the principal told them the t-shirts were “inappropriate for school because they were gang-related” and the girls would be suspended if they wore them again.

One parent tells us, “It’s ridiculous. They’re good kids who love Justin Bieber.”

A rep for the school tells TMZ, “Students at Roosevelt High School were not banned from wearing shirts displaying the image of Justin Bieber, nor were they accused of being in a gang.”

Someone’s fibbing.

Justin Bieber’s Laugh-Inducing SNL Night

Making for quite the entertaining evening of television, Justin Bieber partook in a few segments on the February 5th episode of “Saturday Night Live” last night.

The “Never Say Never” star joined Dana Carvey and “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi during a Church Lady skit in which the Church Lady attempted to rid evil spirits from the “Jersey Whore”.

In another spoof offering, Bieber helped out Andy Samberg while poking fun at Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly’s just-released flick, “The Roommate”.

Justin portrayed the character of a college student rooming with Deckland [Samberg], as the SNL star said, “So I guess we’re best friends now. I love you. … I’m totally normal.”

Understandably a bit worried, the “Baby” hitmaker responded by saying, “This isn’t going to be one of those things where our friendship starts out fine but then you get really possessive and crazy because I’m not really up for that.”

Justin Bieber surprise ‘SNL’ appearance on February 5!!

It seems Justin Bieber is everywhere lately, and now the latest place the teen heartthrob is supposed to be is Saturday Night Live. That’s right, the young singer may actually stay up late to be on SNL tonight. He is in New York promoting his new 3-D movie Never Say Never, which will hit theaters Friday, February 11.

What exciting news for Bieber’s young fans in Oklahoma City and around the nation! Unfortunately, most of his fan base will long be in bed by the time he makes his appearance on the late night show. However, parents have the chance to thrill their daughters by recording tonight’s episode. That’s right! You can be a hero by simply setting your DVR to record NBC channel 4 in OKC at 10:29 p.m. tonight.

As of now, there are no details on if Justin Bieber will sing on the show or if he’ll be in one of the funny skits, but whatever his appearance brings, it is sure to be a major hit with fans. During the 16-year-old’s last appearance on the show, he sang and appeared in two sketches.

Tonight’s SNL hose is comedian Dana Carvey, and Linkin Park is the schedule musical guest. So, will you be staying up late to catch Justin Bieber on SNL, or will you be setting your DVR?

Justin Bieber Keeping Neutral For Super Bowl XLV

16-year old singing star Justin Bieber is not ready to make a big prediction when it comes to Super Bowl XLV Sunday night — as a matter of fact, he is choosing instead to be Switzerland.

Speaking to MTV, Bieber — who has spent most of the season messing with his father and manager Scooter Braun over the New York Jets — expressed that he is really rather indifferent about the two teams playing for the big game this weekend:

“I’m not, like, a fan of either teams … Either way, whatever team wins, it’s not my team.”

Instead of worry about this, most Bieber fans are probably going to be instead focused on the singer’s upcoming Best Buy commercial featuring Ozzy Osbourne. As soon as the ad airs, check back here for more analysis of the laughs.

Bieber’s ‘Swagger Coach’ Helps Him Grow !!

Justin Bieber

A year ago he had a walk. Today, pop sensation Justin Bieber has a swagger.

But Bieber is not strutting because he is the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album chart in the Billboard Hot 100, the New York Post reported late Saturday.

No, he had help from 24-year-old Ryan Good, a Florida-raised, self-proclaimed “beach boy” who has been hailed as The Bieb’s “swagger coach.” His other jobs include Bieber’s stylist/road manager/all-around big brother.

“[Justin’s] a cool kid. He’s got a lot of character. A lot of ‘swagger,’ as the kids like to say,” said Good, whose appointment came in January 2009 after he got a call from Bieber’s mentor, R&B singer Usher, suggesting he work with the burgeoning pop star.

Good had previously toiled as Usher’s assistant, but “wasn’t very good at it,” he admits. Since then, he has helped Bieber maintain his hip factor with tips such as “only eat red Swedish Fish” and “go 100 per cent when playing Nerf basketball.”

And while Good’s suggestions are eccentric to say the least, it is clear something is working for Bieber.

The wide-eyed singer, who broke onto the scene just last January with his hit “Baby,” now outfits himself in Dolce & Gabbana, is looking to buy a few properties across the US — although Atlanta is still home base for now — and is spending less time playing NBA video games and more time brushing up on current affairs.

But perhaps the biggest sign of Bieber’s new maturity is that his days of tween puppy love are behind him. Now that Bieber is entering his late teens, he is all ears for love advice. And his swagger coach has plenty of it.

For one, when leaving a restaurant on a date, Good suggests Bieber “grab mints and toothpicks on the way out.” He also advises him to wear suits with vests and court girls with handwritten notes.

“Scribble it on the hotel paper and drop it in the mail. Nobody does that anymore,” says Good. Of course, he adds, asking a girl out via text is perfectly acceptable in this day and age.
