Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel called off his upcoming meeting with Justin Bieber, Tuesday.
According to the New York Times, Bieber will appear in an outdoor concert in Israel on Thursday. A spokesman for Prime Minister Netanyahu said he had been “open” to the idea of meeting with the pop star and had brought up the idea of inviting children from southern Israel to come to the meeting.
Fox News reported that neither Bieber nor Prime Minister Netanyahu have officially said why the meeting has been called off, although scheduling issues have been brought up.
It has also been brought up that Bieber may have not wanted to meet with the children from southern Israel. The singer tweeted, “i want to see the country and all the places ive dreamed of and whether its the paps or being pulled into politics its been frustrating.”
